- Sugba Lagoon requires a short boat transfer from the mainland – this is included in the tour.
- Reef-safe sunscreen is strongly encouraged at all water stops.

- Magpupungko Rock Pools can only be visited at low tide – the guide will confirm timing before departure

What is Sugba Lagoon?
Sugba Lagoon is one of the most visually extraordinary spots in Siargao – a wide, calm lagoon of turquoise water surrounded by mangroves, accessible by a short bangka boat ride. There is a wooden diving platform in the center of the lagoon that has become one of the most photographed spots on the island. Swimming and jumping from the platform are both popular.
What is Magpupungko Rock Pools?
Magpupungko is a stretch of dramatic rock formations on the eastern coast of Siargao. At low tide, natural pools form between the rocks and fill with warm, clear water – creating natural swimming pools surrounded by extraordinary geological formations. The pools are only accessible at low tide, and your guide will time the visit accordingly.
Do I need to surf to enjoy this tour?
Not at all. The Cloud 9 stop on this tour is at the viewing platform above the break – you watch the wave, experience the atmosphere and appreciate one of the world’s most famous surf spots without getting in the water. It is genuinely worth seeing regardless of your relationship with surfing.
Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included in the standard tour price. Maasin area has local restaurants where you can stop for lunch, and your guide will recommend the best options based on your preferences and timing.
Can we swim at all the stops?
Yes – Sugba Lagoon, Maasin River and Secret Beach all offer swimming. Magpupungko Rock Pools also allow swimming when the tide conditions are right. Your guide will advise on the best spots and conditions at each stop.
What happens if the tide is wrong for Magpupungko?
Your guide will check tide times before departure and plan the itinerary accordingly. If tide conditions do not allow access to the rock pools on the day of your tour, the guide will suggest an alternative stop in the area.
