Philippines Itinerary 10 Days: Cebu, Bohol & Coron (2026)

La risposta breve

Ten days in the Philippines is the right amount of time – if you resist the temptation to see too much.

The most common mistake on a first Philippines trip is trying to cover five or six islands in ten days. You end up spending more time in transit than actually being somewhere. This itinerary covers three destinations – Cebu, Bohol and Coron – and gives each one enough time to actually deliver what it promises.

No Manila. No domestic flight marathons. No wasted mornings recovering from exhausting transfers.

If you only have a week, read our 7-day Philippines itinerary instead – it covers Cebu and Bohol without Coron and keeps the logistics even simpler.

Perché Cebu, Bohol e Coron?

These three destinations cover the full range of what makes the Philippines extraordinary – without requiring complicated logistics or back-to-back flights.

Cebu gives you the sardine run at Moalboal, whale sharks at Oslob, Kawasan Falls and a city with genuine character. Bohol gives you the Chocolate Hills, tarsiers, sea turtles at Balicasag and a slower pace that balances out the energy of Cebu. Coron gives you the most dramatic lagoon scenery in the Philippines and some of the best wreck diving in the world.

Together they form a trip that moves from active to relaxed to spectacular – a natural arc that makes 10 days feel complete rather than rushed.

Days 1-3: Cebu – marine life, waterfalls and island culture

Fly directly into Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Cebu is one of the best-connected airports in the Philippines and a strong starting point – it gives you immediate access to extraordinary experiences without needing a Manila connection.

Day 1 is for settling in. Cebu City has enough to fill an afternoon – Basilica del Santo Nino, Fort San Pedro and Colon Street – and the food scene is genuinely good. Try the lechon, Cebu’s signature dish, at a local restaurant rather than a hotel.

Day 2 is Moalboal. Head south from Cebu City (around 2.5 hours by road) for the sardine run at Panagsama Beach – millions of sardines gathering permanently just meters from shore, no boat required. Sea turtles are regularly spotted in the same area. Pescador Island in the afternoon for snorkeling. Return to Cebu City in the evening.

Day 3 is Kawasan Falls. Head to Badian for the canyoneering route along the Kawasan River – a 4 to 5 hour trek through jungle passages, natural pools and waterfall cascades. One of the best adventure experiences in the Philippines and a complete contrast to the marine focus of Day 2.

Days 4-6: Bohol – countryside, wildlife and island calm

Take the morning ferry from Cebu City Pier 1 to Tagbilaran, Bohol. The crossing takes around 2 hours – no domestic flight needed.

Day 4 is the countryside. Chocolate Hills in the morning before the day-trip groups arrive from Cebu – over 1,200 perfectly cone-shaped hills stretching across the landscape. On the way back, stop at the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella – one of the most responsible wildlife encounters in the Philippines. End the day on the Loboc River for a late afternoon cruise.

Day 5 is Balicasag Island. Depart early – by 6:30am if possible – for the best experience before crowds arrive. Sea turtle sightings are close to guaranteed. The coral walls drop into deep water with exceptional visibility. This is the best snorkeling day of the entire trip. Return via Virgin Island sandbar in the afternoon.

Day 6 is flexible. Use it to explore Panglao Island at your own pace, visit Baclayon Church, or take a slow morning before the journey to Coron. If you have energy, Pamilacan Island for dolphin watching is an excellent add-on – depart at 5am and you will likely see large pods of spinner dolphins in open water.

Days 7-10: Coron – lagoons, limestone cliffs and island hopping

Take a domestic flight from Tagbilaran or Cebu to Busuanga Airport, around 45 minutes from Coron town. This is the only flight in the itinerary – and it is worth it.

Day 7 is for arriving and adjusting. Coron is noticeably quieter than Cebu or the Panglao area of Bohol. The town is small and authentically Filipino. Spend the afternoon at the Coron town viewpoint, walk around the market and eat well.

Day 8 is Kayangan Lake and island hopping. The standard circuit covers Kayangan Lake – often described as the clearest lake in Asia, inside a mountain crater accessible by a short hike – Twin Lagoon, CYC Beach and Banol Beach. Go early. Kayangan is significantly better before 10am.

Day 9 is for diving or snorkeling the WWII wrecks. Twelve Japanese warships were sunk in a single US airstrike in September 1944. They now rest at depths of 10 to 40 meters, covered in coral and populated by extraordinary marine life. For certified divers, this is one of the best wreck diving experiences in the world. For non-divers, several wrecks are accessible in shallow water without a tank.

Day 10 is a slow morning before departure. Barracuda Lake – famous for its thermocline where cold and warm water layers meet – is a good final morning activity for divers. Otherwise, a last walk around town and a flight from Busuanga back to Manila or your onward destination.

Why this route works

Cebu to Bohol is a ferry, not a flight. Bohol to Coron is one short domestic flight. You arrive and leave from different airports which eliminates backtracking. And each destination has a distinct enough character that the trip never feels repetitive.

Cebu is active and coastal. Bohol is varied and grounded. Coron is dramatic and quiet. The arc works.

The only thing that can derail a trip like this is over-scheduling. Leave half-days empty. Island pace is real – things take longer than expected, and the best moments often happen when you are not rushing to the next activity.

Yes – for a first trip, 10 days is an excellent starting point. The key is focusing on two to three destinations and giving each one enough time. Trying to visit more islands leads to spending more time in transit than actually being somewhere.

What is the best 10-day Philippines itinerary?

Cebu, Bohol and Coron is one of the strongest routes for first-time visitors. It covers marine life, countryside landscapes and dramatic lagoon scenery without complicated logistics. The only domestic flight in the itinerary is the one to Coron.

Do I need to go through Manila?

No. Cebu has direct international connections from many European, Middle Eastern and Asian hubs. Flying directly into Cebu saves a full day compared to routing through Manila.

Come si arriva da Cebu a Bohol?

By ferry from Pier 1 in Cebu City to Tagbilaran Port. Fast craft take around 90 minutes. Regular ferries take around 2 hours. Several operators run the route daily – book in advance during peak season.

How do I get from Bohol to Coron?

By domestic flight from Tagbilaran or Cebu City to Busuanga Airport, around 1 hour. Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines serve the route. Book early, particularly between December and April.

Is Coron worth visiting for non-divers?

Yes. Kayangan Lake and the island hopping circuit are extraordinary without any diving. Several WWII wrecks are shallow enough to snorkel above. Non-divers consistently rate Coron as one of the highlights of the Philippines.

What is the best time to do this itinerary?

November to May is the most reliable period across all three destinations. December to April is peak season – book flights, ferries and accommodation well in advance. June to October brings more rain and rougher seas but significantly lower prices and fewer crowds.

Can I do this itinerary independently?

Yes – all three destinations are accessible independently. That said, private tours for the main experiences (Moalboal, Balicasag, Coron island hopping) make a significant difference in terms of pacing and quality.
