Siargao island hopping or Sohoton Cove: which tour to book (2026)
La risposta breve
Book the Tri-Island tour (Naked, Daku and Guyam) if you want an easy day close to General Luna: short boat rides, white sand, swimming and a boodle lunch. Book Sohoton Cove if caves, lagoons and stingless jellyfish are the reason you came, and accept a long day. Operators quote two to three hours each way between General Luna and Bucas Grande, with an early start timed to the tide.
If you only have time for one, choose Tri-Island. With three days or more, do both, and keep Sohoton for a day you can afford to spend mostly in transit.
Tri-Island: three islands, one easy day
Naked, Daku and Guyam sit just off General Luna. The first stop is about 25 minutes by outrigger from the pier, and the hops between islands take around 20 minutes each.
Naked Island, also called Pansukian, is a bare sandbar roughly 200 meters long, with no trees and no shade. It moves with the tide and is mostly under water at high tide, so timing matters. Daku is the biggest of the three, with coconut palms and the usual lunch stop, where meals are served boodle style. Guyam is the smallest, and you can see it from the General Luna boulevard. A full day usually runs from about 9 AM to 4 PM, and some tours add a secret beach or the more distant Corregidor Island, around 45 minutes by boat.
It suits first-timers, families and anyone who wants a day without logistics. The trade-offs are little shade at Naked Island and busier islands around midday.
Sohoton Cove: the longer, wilder day
Sohoton Cove is on Bucas Grande Island, off Socorro in Surigao del Norte, south-west of Siargao. Operators describe a journey of two to three hours each way from General Luna, combining road and sea. From the airport side, travelers typically take a ferry to Socorro (about an hour) and then a boat of 30 to 40 minutes. The cove itself is entered through a cave that is only passable at low tide, which is why tours leave around 7:00 to 7:30 AM.
Inside, you get Hagukan Cave with its glowing green water, Magkukuob Cave, Crystal Cave, a lagoon at Tiktikakan and the stingless jellyfish sanctuary, which you reach by paddle boat. Most of the experience is swimming and snorkeling in caves and lagoons.
A few honest points. It is most of a day, so do not stack anything else on it. Environmental and entrance fees apply, and whether they are in the tour price varies by operator, so always check the inclusions. The jellyfish numbers change over time, so ask for recent sightings rather than assuming. And tide and sea conditions can reshape or cancel the day, so keep a spare day in your Siargao stay.
How to choose
Go to Tri-Island if it is your first time in Siargao, you are traveling with children or older relatives, you only have a free day, or you want to keep your energy for surf lessons at Cloud 9 and time in General Luna.
Go to Sohoton Cove if you want caves, lagoons and jellyfish, you are comfortable with an early start and a lot of time on road and boat, and you have a buffer day in case the weather turns.
Do both if you have three days or more. Start with Tri-Island, and schedule Sohoton on the day with the best tide and the calmest forecast.
Private or shared?
Shared boats are sold all over General Luna for a fraction of the price of a private tour, and they work well if you are flexible. A private tour buys your own boat and your own timing, hotel pick-up, and a guide who watches tides and sea conditions for you. For Sohoton, where much of the cost is the boat and the transfer, a private tour gets noticeably better value as your group grows.

No. Sohoton uses the whole day because of the travel time and the tide window, so schedule island hopping on a different day.
The cove is entered through a cave that is only passable at low tide, so tours leave around 7:00 to 7:30 AM to match it.
They are a stingless species, and guides brief you before you get in. Numbers vary over time, so ask your operator what has been seen recently.
It depends on what you want. Naked Island for the open sandbar, best at low tide. Daku for lunch and shade. Guyam for a quiet stop and photos.
Generally yes. The boat rides are short and the water near the islands is shallow, with life jackets provided. Shade is limited at Naked Island, so bring sun protection.
It varies. Many Sohoton operators list environmental and entrance fees separately, so always check the inclusions on the tour page.
